I do not work on AI-written or assisted stories, and I will not use AI in your edit. Blech. OK, enough of that!
Developmental Editing
You come with a completed draft on which you would like significant feedback. I provide extensive notes in the form of line edits and a detailed edit letter, in which I share what I think is working and my suggestions for what could change.
OR
You bring me an idea you’ve been rolling around in your brain, a few pages, an outline, whatever! We brainstorm, discuss directions for the story, and together, we develop a plan to tackle your draft.
Rates:
$0.035 per word
OR
$60 per hour (if there’s no full manuscript)
Manuscript Evaluation
This is more of a vibe check than a full developmental edit! I read your full draft and provide an edit letter with overarching feedback about what I think is working and suggestions for what could change.
For novels, edit letters range from 3-5 single-spaced pages. Short story edit letters are 1-2 single-spaced pages.
A manuscript evaluation does not include line edits.

Copyediting
I read your manuscript for grammatical and language errors, typos, clarity, continuity, and formatting consistency.
This is ideal if you are confident in the story and structure of your manuscript and have moved on to line-level edits.
Rate:
$0.024 per word
Proofreading
I read your manuscript for any lingering typos, grammatical errors, and formatting errors.
This is the final edit before submitting or publishing. Ideally, your manuscript has been heavily edited before this step.

$0.016 per word
How it works:
If you think you may be interested in one or more of these services, fantastic! You may not know exactly what type of edit your project needs — that’s totally OK! Please fill out my contact form and tell me a bit about yourself and your project, and we can figure it out together.
After I receive your initial form, we can set up either or both of the following:
- An intro video call to talk about your project, discuss what you’re looking for, and make sure we’re both a fit for each other
- A sample edit of up to 1,500 words for longer projects
If we decide to work together, we will agree on a rate and a timeline for delivery, and I’ll collect 50% of the fee. I’ll collect the other 50% on delivery of your edits.
I love the editing process and working with writers — if the cost or payment timeline is prohibitive, don’t hesitate to reach out! I’m happy to discuss alternate options.
